2015-06 Securing a Sustainable Food Chain
With this initiative and in view of the upcoming adoption of the UN post 2015 Sustainable Development Goals and a new global climate framework, the representatives from across Europe’s food chain, Trade Unions and the NGO community reconfirmed their commitment to work together as a supply chain and with public authorities, towards making the European food chain more sustainable.
The Stakeholder Dialogue Group on Food Sustainability, established in 2013, includes 18 organisations and companies from across the EU food chain, most of which are also members of the High Level Forum for a Better Functioning Food Supply Chain. With the renewal of the High Level Forum launched today the group is now calling the Commission to allow their recommendations for more sustainable food systems to be part of its future work programme.
