2024-06 A NEW PRESIDENT APPOINTED AT EU SPECIALTY FOOD INGREDIENTS
At its Board meeting on 4th June 2024, EU Specialty Food Ingredients has appointed a new President, Mr Huub Scheres (Director Science & Regulatory Advocacy at IFF), as a successor to Mr Geert Maesmans (Cargill).
“On behalf of our association, I would like to sincerely thank Geert Maesmans for his involvement in the past years. We are glad that he continues to serve on the Board, and I am excited to keep collaborating with him and our fellow elected colleagues,” commented Mr. Scheres.
The other Directors in the Board elected by the General Assembly are:
- Mr. Bernd Haber (Director Global Regulatory & External Affairs, BASF Human Nutrition)
- Mr. Alexander Schoch (Head of Regulatory Affairs, Beneo)
- Mr. Geert Maesmans (Director Research and Development, Cargill Food Ingredients and BioIndustrials, Starches, Sweeteners and Texturizers)
- Ms. Saskia Kliphuis (Public Affairs Manager, Corbion)
- Mr. Henk Aalten (Regulatory Affairs Head Region Europe, DSM-Firmenich)
- Mr. Miguel Prieto-Arranz (Director at CEFIC – European Chemical Industry Council)
- Ms. Marie-Laure Empinet (Member of EPA – The European Association of Polyol Producers)
- Mr. Luca Scotti, (Secretary General at Federchimica AISPEC Sector Groups Food Additives and Processing Aids & Ingredients for Food Supplements and Functional Food)
- Mr. Laurent Oger (Director General, ISA – International Sweeteners Association)., Treasurer
